How did Polish pottery conquer the hearts of the Japanese ?

We have been operating on the Japanese market for over 20 years. The first contact we made with a customer from Japan took place during the participation of ‘Ceramika Artystyczna’ at the International Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt. The initial cooperation covered a very narrow assortment. There were different types of cups and bowls in traditional decorations – Chairman of the Board of ‘Ceramika Artystyczna’ Artistic Handicraft Cooperative, Helena Smoleńska explains.

Nowadays, the Cooperative from Bolesławiec produces, among others, sushi sets made of stoneware ceramics, made and painted by hand in Poland. Years of cooperation have resulted in some new designs, which our artists prepared on the suggestions of the customer from Japan – Smoleńska says.

The influence of the Japanese culture on the production, trade offer, is currently seen in the production process of ceramics – she adds.
